    NEXIM and SMEDAN Partner to Boost MSME Growth and Global Competitiveness

    In a landmark move to accelerate the growth of Nigeria’s small business sector, the Nigerian Export-Import Bank (NEXIM) and the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to drive inclusive economic development. Signed on 18th July 2025 at SMEDAN Headquarters in Abuja, the partnership will provide tailored financial products, export credit facilities, capacity building, and technical support to MSMEs, while facilitating access to regional and international markets. It also aims to promote job creation and sustainable entrepreneurship, positioning Nigerian small businesses to scale, compete globally, and contribute meaningfully to national GDP.

    NEXIM Explores UAE Partnerships to Empower Nigerian Youth and Boost Service Exports

    The Managing Director/CEO of NEXIM Bank, Abba Bello, joined a high-level delegation led by Nigeria’s Honourable Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, on a strategic visit to the United Arab Emirates. The delegation held talks with H.E. Dr. Sultan AlNeyadi, UAE Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister, focusing on partnerships in education, digital skills, youth exchange programmes, and entrepreneurship — key drivers of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda for sustained and inclusive economic growth. They also met with the Executive Leadership of Dubai Cares to explore impactful collaborations for Nigerian youth. These engagements aim to adapt successful global strategies into Nigeria’s non-oil export value chain, with emphasis on service-based exports.

    NEXIM Seals Strategic Partnerships to Boost Nigerian Trade and Investment

    At the ongoing Annual Meetings of the Islamic Development Bank Group in Algiers, Algeria (19th–22nd May 2025), the NEXIM team led by MD/CE Mr. Abba Bello signed two landmark MOUs with the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD) and the Islamic Corporation for the Insurance of Investment and Export Credit (ICIEC), both members of the IDB Group. These strategic partnerships will boost investment and financing opportunities, strengthen export credit and insurance solutions, and support Nigerian exporters in expanding into new markets — driving sustainable economic growth and advancing Nigeria’s position in global trade.
